Google Maps will now have the ability to create public events

This new feature appears in the ‘contributions’ section, where once it is accessed, a new tab will appear next to ‘reviews’, ‘photos’ and ‘changes’. At the moment that tab is accessed, the user only has to select the option ‘add a public event’ and follow the instructions that will appear.

Google launched a new feature in its Google Maps application that allows users to create public events and place them on the map of that ‘app’, edit them or delete them.

Google announced the arrival of public events on Google Maps, where it also specifies that this new feature is not available in some regions of the world, and that, for now, it can only be used on Android devices.

The new public events feature allows Google Maps users to create and edit local events that take place in a certain area, such as races or fairs open to the public, and place them on the map, as some of these users have warned on Reddit.

Although Google has not explained at the moment more details of this function, which is limited, has informed about the process necessary to create these events, edit them or delete them.

In case you want to edit any event you just have to access the same tab, click on ‘edit this event’ and enter the desired changes.

Finally, the new tool allows to eliminate any created event; Going to the ‘events’ tab, choosing the event that you want to delete, clicking on the option ‘edit this event’ and selecting ‘delete this event’, once this option is selected you will have to follow the steps indicated.
