Rest better at night with this function of your Xiaomi

Mobile devices have more and more features that make life easier for us. As is today’s example with Xiaomi terminals, which not only have tools that help us to program what hours we should rest, but also since the arrival of MIUI 12, they have a feature that tells us how to we slept well at night.

And it is that a good rest for people is essential, not only so that they can perform daily, but also to lower stress levels. For this reason, its customization layer does not make them easier than ever with the implementation of this very useful function. Therefore, we will explain what exactly it consists of, how to configure it on your Xiaomi smartphone and what ways you have to get a proper rest again thanks to your smartphone.

How to know the quality of your sleep with Xiaomi

First of all, in order to configure this function on your Xiaomi smartphone, you will need to have a series of essential requirements. More than anything, because if not, you will not be able to choose to analyze how good your rest is at night thanks to your mobile phone.

To do this, the first thing you should keep in mind is that you will need to have at least the MIUI 12 version in your terminal, since it was from this update that this functionality began to be implemented. In addition, it will also be necessary to have at least Android 9.

If you don’t know what the steps are to check what version of software you have on the system, this will be the route you should follow: go to Settings> About the phone. Once inside, you will see both the version of the operating system that you currently have on your smartphone, as well as the version of the customization layer of the Asian firm.

After knowing this we will have to go to Xiaomi’s own software called Health. An own app that reminds us of the one that Apple smartphones come standard in their iOS operating system. In addition, you will need to have an activated Mi account on your phone, since this software will need to be synchronized with it.

In case you don’t have it, because at the time you decided not to create it when you set up the phone. You will have to access Settings and look for the My Account option. Once inside, we will have the possibility to create a new one. Then, we will see the option to add our email and we will have to put our country in the region section. Then it will be the turn to add a password and the security code. Finally, we will have to enter our email to activate it.

After adjusting each of these requirements, it will be time to enter it and investigate it until you find the Sleep Mode section.

Set Xiaomi sleep mode

Once we have completed each of these steps, the first thing we should do is check that everything is in order and that it works correctly on our Xiaomi. If not, we will have to check step by step if any of those that we have previously completed have run it wrong.

After this, we will have to open the Sleep section in this software from the Chinese firm to start configuring it to our needs. And it is that we will find different possibilities, among those that most attract our attention is the fact that our smartphone will be able to record the possible snoring that we have during the night giving permission for the terminal microphone to be activated. Although this is only one of the small functionalities that you will have available.

Therefore, we will have to configure the hours of sleep that best suit us. Keep in mind that experts recommend at least 8 hours of rest. Then, set a time when you have to go to sleep and another to wake up. In addition, during this period that we set on the mobile device, the smartphone itself will be configured to be in Do not disturb mode all the time, so that nothing or nobody can affect our night’s rest, or at any time of the day.

Apart from these two functionalities that we have mentioned, we find that said snoring recordings will be recorded, they will even be stored in the internal memory of the smartphone so that, the next morning, we can check ourselves if we snore or not. However, these are all the functions that this Xiaomi software offers us with MIUI in the case of having Sleep mode enabled:

  • Sleep information for the day, week and month.
  • How many hours of sleep we have had?
  • The quality of sleep: hours of deep sleep, light sleep and times that we have woken up during our rest.
  • Exact time that we have snored during the break.
  • Snoring recordings will be saved in the mobile storage.

Activate the Sleep function on your smartphone

However, even if you do not have the above requirements on your phone, you may have among the functions of your smartphone the option of sleep mode that is integrated into Xiaomi mobile devices. And although MIUI adds its own functions, it also has characteristics of Google’s operating system. And, this tool will also help us to maintain not only a good quality of sleep, but also a proper use of the phone.

Although, what matters to us in this case, is the fact of knowing how this utility works and if it is really worth configuring it. To begin with, if we activate this tool, it will help us not only to automatically silence the terminal, but also to turn the tones on the screen into black and white.

Basically, the screen of smartphones reflects a blue light, so this function will avoid this harmful light, thus achieving a more effective rest. In addition, it will let us establish a specific schedule if we prefer, so that we do not have to be enabling it continuously.

To be able to activate it on your Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO smartphone, you just have to follow a series of very simple steps:

  1. Access your mobile settings.
  2. Look for the section on Digital well-being and parental control.
  3. When you are inside, click on the Rest section and follow the instructions.
