The power of the Redmi Note 10 5G to the test, with MIUI 12 at the fore

We have used the Redmi Note 10 5G phone as the main day-to-day phone to check if its performance is good enough to be an acceptable purchase option. This is a terminal that can be purchased in Spain for 229 euros, and this is something to take into account when evaluating the data obtained in one way or another.

As far as hardware is concerned, this is a smartphone that comes with a processor that includes 5G connectivity, and this is always positive, since little by little this type of data connection will increase its coverage throughout Spain. Of course, the integrated SoC is MediaTek’s Dimensity 700, which is the most affordable option on the market to offer the aforementioned connectivity and, therefore, you do not have to expect brutal performance from it. But yes at least solvency, since we are talking about an eight-core component that is capable of working at a maximum frequency of 2.2 GHz.

The model that we have tested is the one that includes 4 GB of RAM, a fairly correct amount, since it will not give you any problems when running Android 11. By the way, it is important to mention that this is one of the first devices that We tested that it has the MIUI 12 customization, and we have to say that we liked it a lot, since it includes interesting advances and, especially, it should be noted that the consumption of resources has been reduced enough to justify a new version of this Asian company work. In particular, we have been struck by two additional privacy options that are found when sharing content, which is always positive. Of course, as always, if you come from another brand, you will need adaptation period that will not be especially long either.

One of the big culprits for having a convincing user experience with the Redmi Note 10 5G is the internal storage. With great success, the Asian firm has included 128 GB -in our model- which is type UFS 2.2. This allows both the reading and writing of information to be done very quickly and, there are even times when it could be said that the SoC is slightly exceeded when using the data. The fact is that this is beneficial for any use you want to give the terminal and, therefore, this seems like really good news to us.

Games with this phone

Obviously playing can be played, but this will not be one of the great motivations that will lead to opting for the purchase of the phone. The reason is that the integrated GPU is a Mali-G57 MC2, which behaves quite well with titles that are not particularly demanding, but when running one that requires 3D graphics, it is clearly noticeable that there is a lack of power. Is it disastrous? No, since you have to take into account the price that we have mentioned before of this terminal.

Redmi Note 10 5G operation

Well, the truth is that we got a quite satisfactory experience, although without fanfare. Thus, when executing applications of all kinds, a correct operation is noticed where generally there is not much lag (although if the weight of the apps is large and there are many in the background, it is possible to notice a certain delay when demanding maximum power). We quite liked the good management of the RAM memory that the operating system performs, since the processor is sufficient for day-to-day life, since it has no problems with the browser or when managing all kinds of messages.

The fact is that with games such as Asphalt, the behavior was adequate. But, when the session lasted a long time and the terminal increased somewhat in temperature due to the demand, a drop in performance was noticed that, as expected, is still present. We have to say that, when it comes to the heat that we have mentioned, there is nothing that is especially dramatic and the control is the usual. It behaves well therefore and with developments such as Clash Royale everything will go smoothly or you will not find something that you do not enjoy when you have free time and you want to play.

Highlights of the Redmi Note 10 5G

The first thing we have to say is that the operation of the fingerprint reader, which is integrated into the side power button of the phone, has seemed excellent. The working speed is especially high and we liked it more than other models that we have tested that are in a similar product range, such as the realme 8 5G. Also, the reliability is very good too. Of course, facial recognition is often not up to par and possibly it will not be something that will be used on a regular basis.

When it comes to connectivity, we really liked the way its Bluetooth 5.1 connection works. We have not found any accessory that caused problems and, as much as it is demanded, the stability of the connection is excellent, since we have not detected unexpected cuts at any time (something especially positive if you are one of those who use wireless headphones). With the Wi-Fi we had mixed results, since sometimes the coverage was excellent and in others there were some problems. But, in general, it must be said that the Redmi Note 10 5G offers enough so that you can browse the Internet freely and not have bad experiences with online games.

Redmi Note 10 5G performance opinion

This is a model that behaves correctly and that will not give you many problems when using it. If we have to compare it with any device on the current market, it should be said that the realme 8 5G is very even, something that is due to the fact that they use the same processor, although it is true that the internal storage seems better to us than the one used in this Redmi Note 10 5G, but its rival surpasses it in sections such as Wi-Fi. The fact is that, if you are looking for an inexpensive device that is capable of using the best data connection that exists today, this is a device that can perfectly fit what you are looking for although it’s very wide edges will take a while to you get used to them perfectly.
